New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was nominated as a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the coach/contributors category.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 54 semifinalists in the “Seniors, Coaches and Contributors” categories for the Class of 2023. The seniors committee is set to elect one non-player or a player who hasn’t played after the 1996 season.
Kraft was among 29 non-players who moved on as a semifinalist for 2023, along with former New England Patriots front office member Frank “Bucko” Kilroy. There were 25 players who were named semifinalists, one of which is the Patriots’ all-time receiving leader, Stanley Morgan.

Kraft, 81, has led the Patriots down a path of success during his 28 years as the owner — with only three losing seasons. He will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame at the end of the day, but it’s just a matter of when he will make it.
