Hubert Davis and his staff are still hoping to add more to their 2023 recruiting class which currently features commitments from five-star players G.G. Jackson and Simeon Wilcher. With UNC welcoming in a 2022 class that is ranked in the Top 20, the future of the program is likely in the hands of the 2023 class.
After UNC missed out on five-star Matas Buzelis, they are shifting the focus to other prospects. And one prospect that would love to hear from North Carolina is in-state guard Silas Demary Jr.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard hails out of Charlotte, North Carolina and is quickly rising in the 2023 class. He’s ranked No. 120 nationally, No. 20 combo guard and the No. 4 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
While at the NBPA 100 camp, he caught up with Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated and revealed he grew up a Tar Heels fan and would love to receive an offer from the program:
“I grew up a big fan Tar Heel fan,” Demary says. “I would say that North Carolina would be a dream offer. I haven’t heard from them, but I would love to. Not saying my recruitment would be over at that point, but everyone wants to have the option of their dream school.”
UNC hasn’t shown a lot of interest in Demary just yet but with his game on the rise, Davis and his staff just might come calling soon enough.
