ESPN today announced the commentary and punditry teams for their coverage of UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.
The studio panel will include, for the first time on U.S. television, Chelsea head coach and 2021 FIFA Best Women’s Coach Emma Hayes as well as Steffi Jones, who won a World Cup and three Euros with Germany during a decorated playing career.
Ian Darke and U.S. women’s national team legend Julie Foudy will be the lead commentary team for the tournament, which runs from July 6-31.
Play-by-play announcers Jenn Hildreth and Jonathan Yardley will also feature, along with color commentary from two more USWNT greats in Lori Lindsey and Danielle Slaton. They will call games from ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Conn., while ESPN will have journalist Alexis Nunes in England as their tournament reporter.
ESPN will have studio programming hosted by Kay Murray and Sebastian Salazar, with Hayes and Jones joined by Foudy, Lindsey, and Slaton on those panels. Former pro referee Christina Unkel will serve as the network’s rules analyst throughout the tournament.
