2023 four-star wide receiver Daquayvious Sorey announced his top four schools on Sunday. Surprisingly though, he didn’t include the Georgia Bulldogs despite his cousin Xavian playing for them — Not to mention, he was once committed to play for Kirby Smart. Now, it appears that isn’t in his future.
The product of Chipley High School also included Florida, Miami, and Alabama on his final schools list. He also announced that he would make his commitment on July 4th. As of right now, On3’s RPM is in favor of the Gators at 39.1%. However, I wouldn’t count out the Tigers.
Everyone on the Plains knows that the team has lacked productivity at the wide receiver position over the years. The last elite wide receiver to play at Auburn may have been Emory Blake or Darvin Adams. The Auburn faithful will attest that they could use more playmakers. Sorey is a playmaker at the position that can soar in the right offense.
Sorey runs track and field for his high school. His ability to fly by defenders is something that will make it easier on Auburn’s quarterbacks in the future. That is certainly something that the coaching staff would love to have. According to 247Sports, the only school that he visited was Florida, and that was on an unofficial visit. In consequence, his recruitment is likely still up in the air. He hasn’t really shown any sign of where he may go, so we will have to wait until July 4th to see where he goes.
