Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Jimbo Fisher this season.
Remington Strickland is entering his redshirt freshman season as a reserve/backup center for Texas A&M, focused on continuing to develop at his new position on the offensive line after redshirting during the 2021 season. Strickland was a multi-sport athlete at Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land, Texas, participating in track and field (shot put and discus) as well as football, where he predominantly played right tackle during his high school career.
Excelling in the classroom as well as on the field, he received Ivy League offers from Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, and Princeton, choosing to stay close to home and committed to the Aggies on Dec. 11, 2020. Due to his size, athleticism, and general football intellect, A move to the center position was the best possible decision for his football future, able to continue learning the position, as well as provide depth in the trenches going into the 2022 season.

Depth Chart Overview
Remington Strickland is currently projected as a rotational/backup center on the offensive line in Texas A&M’s pro-style offense, led by head coach, Jimbo Fisher, and offensive coordinator, Darrell Dickey. His current place on the depth chart is behind the backup center, Matthew Wykoff (Redshirt Freshman), and starting center, Bryce Foster (Sophomore).
Strickland’s relentless play style and determination are what set him apart during the recruiting process. He has a solid frame at 6-4, 295lbs with the arms of a bodybuilder, with plenty of room to add mass, but moves very well at his current size. As a run blocker, Strickland is an absolute bully showing great footwork, strong hands, and speed as he makes his way to the second level, finishing his blocks at a high rate.
In pass protection, Stickland shoots out his stance with good balance while showing enough lateral quickness, and a decent first punch, but due to his high school competition lacking the talent that he will see eventually see in the SEC, he will need to continue working on his technique and basic fundamentals. Overall, look for Remington Strickland to continue developing at the center position in the upcoming summer and fall camps.
