Former NBA MVP and two-time champion Kevin Durant is unquestionably the face of the Brooklyn Nets’ franchise, and owner Joe Tsai is likely hoping that Durant will play out the rest of his career in the Barclays Center.
Yet if the Nets were to go in an entirely different direction, just how much trade value does Durant have at the age of 33?
HoopsHype ranked every NBA player’s trade value to find which contract is the most valuable in the league, and Durant made the top ten. Giannis Antetokounmpo was listed No. 1 overall as having the top trade value in basketball, followed by No. 2 Luka Doncic and No. 3 Nikola Jokic. Durant was listed in eighth, two spots ahead of his old Golden State running mate Steph Curry.
Via HoopsHype:
Guaranteed money left: $197,656,908 till 2025-26
2021/22 stats: 29.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 6.4 apg, 51.8 FG%, 38.3 3P%
Agent: Rich Kleiman
Durant’s age and the Nets’ lack of clarity with their other two All-Stars make his situation potentially just a smidge more open to interpretation than the players above. But assuming Kyrie Irving is committed long-term and Ben Simmons is good to go, Brooklyn is unlikely to trade Durant for even the biggest of hauls.
