I would say this is a lesson to catchers not to casually throw a ball back to a pitcher … but who has the audacity and speed to attempt a STEAL OF HOME in a tie game?
That’s what happened Thursday night, when Jared Oliva of the Indianapolis Indians was on third base. The Columbus Clippers’ catcher even checked before he threw the ball back to the pitcher. But when he tossed a bit of a moonshot back, Oliva took off and scored before the tag came down.
What a play! This is just amazing. A walk-off — run off? — steal of home!
We've been a baseball team for a long, long time.
This is one of the greatest walk-offs we've ever seen. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/MBLAVC1KBi
