Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been named as a defendant in another lawsuit filed in Texas on Monday morning. The lawsuit, which was widely expected, is the 24th civil suit now pending against the former Texans quarterback for sexual misconduct that occurred while he played for Houston.

As with the other 23 lawsuits, this one involves accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior directed by Watson at a massage therapist. Two separate grand juries refused to charge Watson in criminal court, but the standards are different for civil lawsuits.

The NFL still has not rendered any decision on potential punishment for Watson, who the Browns acquired this offseason via trade. Watson did not play for the Texans in 2021 but was paid and on the active roster all season.
