The 247Sports Composite rankings got an upgrade on Friday when the self-proclaimed “recruiting industry’s most comprehensive and unbiased prospect rankings” added a newcomer to its current triad of preferred sources. Now included among its own rankings along with those from Rivals and ESPN is On3, which was started by Shannon B. Terry — the same person who also founded 247Sports and Rivals before selling them off to CBS Sports and Yahoo!, respectively.
While different services have different weighting systems for their rankings, the 247Sports Composite uses the distribution of stars from the industry to assign stars based on an approximate average. By including On3’s numbers into the data set, the composite better mirrors that of the experts from around the nation, offering a more complete overview of what a prospect’s potential might be.
Below, we have listed the 33 prospects from the 2023 recruiting class who made the cut for five-star status in the 247Sports Composite update along with their demographics and a breakdown of all the included services’ numbers that are considered.
