Texas A&M Player Profile: Offensive Lineman, Trey Zuhn

Going into the 2022 football season, Aggies Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Texas A&M roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Jimbo Fisher this season.

Trey Zuhn is entering his redshirt freshman season and is slated to be the starting left tackle on the offensive line for the 2022 Aggies after a full season of continuing to develop and learn from the sidelines. Ranked as the second-best player in the state of Colorado for the 2021 recruiting class, Zuhn chose the challenging road toward the SEC and Texas A&M over staying close to home, knowing that it would be at least a year until he saw any meaningful snaps.

Zuhn committed to the Aggies on Feb. 2, 2020, after spending 3 varsity football seasons for Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, while also participating in track and field (shot put, discus). Trey Zuhn brings a nasty, mauler-like attitude to an offensive line that will have a number of challenges ahead of themselves as the 2022 football season nears.

Trey Zuhn is currently the projected starting left tackle on the 1st team offensive line unit in Texas A&M’s pro-style offense, led by head coach, Jimbo Fisher, and offensive coordinator, Darrell Dickey. Zuhn is in a starting rotation with left guard, Jordan Spasojevic-Moko (Redshirt Sophomore), center, Bryce Foster (Sophomore), right guard, Layden Robinson (Redshirt Junior), and right tackle, Reuben Fatheree (Sophomore). Coming out of high school, Trey Zuhn has a lean and athletic frame at 6-6, 315lbs with room to add weight, and excels in pass protection, consistently shooting out of his stance with a great first punch and light feet while taking advantage of his length to keep defenders at bay. He displays a fierce demeanor as a run blocker, using his strength, speed, and quickness while keeping his pad level and finishing his blocks while driving defenders to the ground. Yes, I will repeat myself a couple of times, but this upcoming season is huge, and brand new starters like Trey Zuhn will have plenty of pressure to perform at a high level, but you know what? so does every starer, and I personally cannot wait to watch this young man take the starting job and run with it immediately.
