Shai Gilgeous-Alexander calls the Thunder fan base one of the best in the league

“Every time we have a home game or we’re in the city, you feel their support.”

In an interview with NBA Italia, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander revealed his favorite thing about Oklahoma City is the fan support the team receives from the Thunder faithful.

“The fans. The fans are amazing. In OKC, we’re like the only major sports team. So everywhere you go, they notice you. They’re always cheering on. They’re never negative in the arena. They love Thunder basketball, and they just want to see us do good,” said Gilgeous-Alexander. “Every time we have a home game or we’re in the city, you feel their support. That’s amazing. Honestly one of the best fan bases in the NBA for sure.”

Gilgeous-Alexander just completed his third season with the Thunder since being traded there in the Paul George to LA Clippers trade. The 23-year-old has emerged as the best player and face of the franchise, so it’s nice to hear him speak so glowingly about the fan base.
