In April, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was tragically killed when he was hit by a dump truck while trying to cross a Florida interstate on foot. It was a heartbreaking loss that many are still coming to terms with.
The Broward County medical examiner released a report on Monday indicating Haskins was drunk at the time he was killed. This prompted the widow of Haskins to release a statement via her attorney.

It is important to be clear about a couple of things in this. Regardless of how far over the legal limit for alcohol consumption that he was at the time he was hit, he didn’t deserve to die and his loss is a tragedy. Having said that, the facts are the facts and for the poor driver of that dump truck, this news carries a lot of weight. If you chose to judge Haskins for his decisions, that is on you, but from a practical standpoint, it makes the entire situation make more sense.
