Alabama Football landed the commitment of a highly-rated quarterback from Louisiana in [autotag]Eli Holstein[/autotag] on Tuesday, but that’s not deterring a fellow Louisiana signal-caller from paying a visit to Tuscaloosa this summer.
The nation’s no. 1 rated quarterback, [autotag]Arch Manning[/autotag], still plans to visit Alabama officially during the weekend of June 10-12 despite Holstein’s commitment, says On3’s Sam Spiegelman.
Spiegelman says that Alabama’s plan is to still recruit Manning and Holstein, with both recruits expected to take their visit to Tuscaloosa during the same weekend.
Manning has official visits set, starting with Georgia (June 3-5) and Texas (June 17-19). Spiegelman says that there is also a possibility of Manning booking a trip to LSU and Florida also, as Manning has expressed interest.
There is no set timetable for Manning to make a commitment, and the Manning family has said on multiple occasions that Arch will make his college decision on his time. Arch himself tells On3 that he will commit once he takes the necessary visits.
I don’t really have a point yet, but I guess it’s kind of narrowing stuff down. I’m looking forward to (making a decision) either before the season or during the season or after the season. If I was ready I’d probably commit right now, but I’m not, so I’m just waiting.
