Scott Forbes has the UNC baseball team playing some of their best baseball of the season at the right time. With just one series left against No. 20 Florida State, the Diamond Heels are hoping to end the season strong and earn a ticket to the postseason tournament.
On Thursday, UNC took a big step forward and it came from the bat of Alberto Osuna who hit a three-run walk-off homer in the ninth to give the Tar Heels their ninth win in the last 11 games. Osuna’s three-run blast gave UNC the 7-5 win at home, sending the fans into excitement.
And it all came with two outs in the game.

The sophomore counted for 6 of UNC’s 7 RBI’s in the game, hitting another three-run home in the first inning as well.
After leading 4-1, the Tar Heels saw Florida State add two in the fourth, one in the sixth and then two more in the eighth to take the lead. The comeback was then on for UNC in the ninth grabbing the series-opening victory.
The two teams meet again on Friday night.
