On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they had completed a second interview with Brandon Hunt for the team’s general manager vacancy. Hunt is currently the Steelers Pro Scouting Coordinator and is considered a favorite to replace current general manager Kevin Colbert.

Hunt is the sixth and presumably final candidate to get a second interview. The pool of candidates who will be considered for the job includes Hunt, Omar Khan, Ryan Cowden, Doug Whaley, Andy Weidl and John Spytek.

The Steelers added Hunt to the front office in 2010 and has been in charge of pro scouting for almost the entirety of his tenure.

Personally, I think this is Hunt’s job to lose. I originally would have considered fellow Steelers front office executive Omar Khan the favorite but it feels like Hunt has the inside track and the fact he’s interviewing for other jobs with other teams tells me he wants to move up from his current position, whether it is in Pittsburgh or somewhere else.
