Wake Forest junior Jake LaRavia will reportedly not participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages at the NBA draft combine, according to James Boyd of the Indy Star.
LaRavia, who was among the 80-plus prospects invited to the event, took part in several on-court drills and the anthro measurements on Wednesday. However, the combine announced afterward that LaRavia withdrew from the scrimmages, which were set to begin Thursday.
He excelled in the shooting portion of the combine on Wednesday.
LaRavia, who measured in at 6 feet, 8 inches in shoes with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, led all prospects in the 3-point star drill, hitting 68% (17-of-25) of his shots. He also finished second in shuttle run (2.89 seconds) and third in lane agility (10.58 seconds).
Former Lawrence Central (@LCHSAthletics) star and Wake Forest junior Jake LaRavia shooting some 3s. Takes a A LOT of stamina to do this drill. I missed part of his hot streak, but he’s got textbook shooting form. pic.twitter.com/0fiOlpyBvB

LaRavia, who was named to the All-ACC second team, averaged 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and one blocked shot on 38.4% shooting from 3-point range in 33 games. His 55 total steals were tied for 15th-most in program history for a single season.
He declared for the draft in March and left open the option to return to school. However, by opting out of the scrimmages, LaRavia and his camp likely feel strongly about their standing and may elect to stay in the draft after his performance on Wednesday.
The early entry withdrawal deadline for underclassmen is June 1.
