Report: Titans signing former Vols DB Kenneth George

George was one of the tryout players at Tennessee’s rookie minicamp this weekend.

The Tennessee Titans are signing at least one of the undrafted free agents who tried out for the team during rookie minicamp.

According to Pro Football Network’s Mike Kaye, Tennessee is inking former Volunteers defensive back, Kenneth George. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 5-foot-11, 203-pound defensive back appeared in 33 games for the Vols over four years, tallying 52 total tackles (one for loss), one interception, 10 passes defended and two fumble recoveries.

Before transferring to Tennessee, George spent two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College. He redshirted in his first year and tallied 27 tackles and two picks in 11 games during his second campaign.

George ran into an off-the-field issue in 2019 when he was charged with battery of a police officer, resisting an officer with violence, resisting an officer without violence and disorderly conduct.

He ended up pleading guilty to battery of a police officer and resisting an officer without violence and was sentenced to one year of probation.

George, who now joins former Vols teammate Theo Jackson, a sixth-round pick of the Titans in 2022, will have an uphill climb in making Tennessee’s roster in what is a very crowded situation in the secondary.
