The 49ers won’t need to wait long to get into their NFC West schedule this season. They announced their home opener in 2022 will come in Week 2 when they host the Seattle Seahawks.
This will be the first time since 2011 that the 49ers will face the Seahawks without Russell Wilson under center.
Seattle won both matchups last year, including a 28-21 victory at Levi’s Stadium where Trey Lance played the entire second half because of a calf injury for Jimmy Garoppolo.
San Francisco has the first two games of their 2022 schedule now with a road game in Chicago to begin the year before they head home.
The full schedule will officially be released at 5:00pm Pacific Time.
