With two weeks remaining in the regular season, D1Baseball’s weekly regional projections are beginning to tighten up.
After taking two-of-three from one of the nation’s highest-rated teams in the RPI, Auburn, Arkansas is now back into national-seed chatter. The bad news is? This week’s projected Fayetteville Regional contains three tough tests for the Razorbacks.
In the latest projection from D1Baseball, Arkansas has bumped up to the No. 6 seed which means that if they win their regional, they will host a Super Regional. Joining Arkansas, is Texas, Louisiana Tech, and Southeast Missouri State.
- Arkansas (36-12, 16-8 SEC)
- Texas (35-17, 11-10 Big XII)
- Louisiana Tech (33-17, 15-9 Conference USA)
- Southeast Missouri (31-16, 13-5 Ohio Valley Conference)
A regional with programs that are well over .500 would be a hefty measuring stick for Arkansas Baseball, as they look to get back to Omaha for the first time since 2019.
Paired up with the Fayetteville Regional is the Baton Rouge regional, hosted by No. 11 seed LSU. Their draw is not any easier, as the Tigers is joined by powerful mid-major Dallas Baptist, the team that knocked Arkansas out of the postseason last season, NC State, and McNeese State.
Arkansas hosts Vanderbilt for the final SEC series of the season at Baum-Walker Stadium beginning Friday night.
