With the 2022 NFL draft in the books, the Pittsburgh Steelers have begun their second round of interviews for their massive list of potential general manager candidates First up, according to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero is former NFL general manager Doug Whaley.
Whaley is vying for the opportunity to replace Kevin Colbert, who has run the Steelers in one capacity or another since 2000. Whaley had a rocky run in the NFL during his time with the Buffalo Bills.
It makes sense the Steelers would be especially interested in Whaley after he spent 10 years as the Steelers pro personnel coordinator under Colbert. We’ve all seen how Pittsburgh operates when it comes to taking care of their own and Whaley definitely falls into that category.
The #Steelers are bringing in Doug Whaley this week for a second interview for their GM job, per source.
