Gotham Knights could get four-player co-op according to store listings

Upcoming Arkham pseudo-sequel and all-around DC beat-em-up RPG Gotham Knights looks like it might be getting an upgrade from two-player co-op to the full four.

Upcoming Arkham pseudo-sequel and all-around DC beat-em-up action adventure Gotham Knights looks like it might be getting an upgrade from two-player co-op to the full four. Notably, this means one player on each of the characters that will be available in the game, and has been much-requested (and oft-assumed by the less-invested).

The news comes from the ever-reliable source of online store listings. Via ResetEra, here’s the PSN listing that very clearly states “up to 4 online players” and “4 network players.” That’s in contrast with the official site that says you can play solo or “with one other hero.” Other listings, like Steam, don’t make a statement one way or the other beyond a copy-paste of what’s said on the official site.

Many folks had assumed this was already the case, while those who’ve kept a keen eye on the game are surprised after so much clear communication of it being two-player only. This could be an over-enthusiastic but under-informed update on the Playstation end, or a pending new announcement. The game has been in development for a while, and clearly with four main characters you would assume this was, at some stage, always the plan.

It’s worth pointing out some other oddities on the PSN page. It says for example that a “release date is yet to be determined” and then under that has the announced release date of October 25. It also has the same copy-pasted passage about “one other hero” in the game description.

We’ve reached out to Warner Bros. for clarification and will update if they get back to us.
