Notre Dame freshman Blake Wesley has reportedly earned an invitation to participate in the NBA draft combine, according to Tom Noie of ND Insider.
Wesley, a projected first-round pick, will attend the combine but will apparently not play in 5-on-5 scrimmages. He will instead opt to participate in the individual measurements and other related on-court testing, according to the report.
The combine will run May 16-22 in Chicago, Illinois, and feature representatives from all 30 teams. Teams each year submit a list of the players they would like to see invited, typically those with the highest odds of getting drafted.
Sixty-nine players were invited to the combine last year.

Wesley, who was named to the All-ACC second team, averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 35 games on 47.1% shooting from the field. He was the only true freshman in the nation to record at least 450 points, 100 rebounds, 75 assists, 50 3s and 39 steals.
Prospects each year often decide to skip certain portions of the combine to better position themselves in the draft. Wesley and his camp likely feel as though he will be better suited to skip the 5-on-5 scrimmages and just focus on the other testing.
The NBA draft will take place on June 23.
