Arkansas men’s basketball head coach Eric Musselman on Saturday revealed the program was heavily involved in the recruitment of former four-star prospect MarJon Beauchamp.
Musselman made the revelation on Twitter after Beauchamp posted a photo of himself wearing a Razorbacks shirt. He reminisced a bit about what could have been had Beauchamp committed to the program prior to their run to the Elite Eight this year.
Of course, Beauchamp passed on the collegiate route and opted to sign with the NBA G League Ignite out of Yakima Valley College. In addition to Arkansas, Beauchamp also received interest from LSU, Oregon and Texas Tech among others.
We were recruiting @Marjon32 hard during the 2021 summer for our 21-22 season. Look for him to be in the first round of this years @NBADraft

Beauchamp emerged as perhaps the top Ignite prospect this year, averaging 15.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals in 24 games. He is most commonly projected to be a first-round pick after dazzling at times on the defensive end with his length and athleticism.
Certainly, Musselman and Razorbacks fans missed out on such a high-profile prospect like Beauchamp but the program appears to be on the college basketball map after a strong run in recent memory.
