The Chicago Bears were supposed to be making the first selection of the day earlier in the fifth round, but general manager Ryan Poles had other plans. Poles traded down three times, first with the Buffalo Bills, then with the Houston Texans, and finally with the Cincinnati Bengals to acquire more draft picks.
They finally did make their first selection though, drafting offensive tackle Braxton Jones from Southern Utah with the 168th overall pick.
Jones gives the Bears more options on the offensive line. He primarily played left tackle while in college, but is more of a raw prospect. He was named first-team All-Big Sky the last two seasons of his collegiate career.
Jones is the first selection for the offensive line. Here’s are how Bears fans are reacting to the pick.
