Rutgers men’s lacrosse moves up one spot in latest rankings

Rutgers men’s lacrosse is now third in the nation in this week’s Inside Lacrosse Rankings.

Fresh off a dramatic overtime home win over Penn State to close out the regular season, Rutgers men’s lacrosse moved up a spot in the latest poll from Inside Lacrosse.

The Scarlet Knights are now the third-best team in the nation according to the poll.

Rutgers finished the season 12-2 (4-1 Big Ten). They wound up second in the conference’s final regular-season standings. Their only losses of the year came at Maryland and Princeton, both ranked programs.

In fact, Maryland is the consensus top team in the nation, once again checking in atop the rankings. Princeton is seventh, moving down three spots from the previous week.

Rutgers closed out the regular season with wins at Michigan last week and then this past weekend against Penn State.

Three Big Ten teams made this week’s ranking led by No. 1 Maryland, No. 3 Rutgers and with No. 10 Ohio State moving up one spot from the last poll.
