It’s been a rough few weeks for Baker Mayfield.
With his future in Cleveland uncertain, the still-current Browns quarterback probably wants to forget most of the ongoing off-season.
Luckily Mayfield’s alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, happened to carve out an entire Friday to honor their beloved Heisman-winning quarterback. They even made a bronze statue of him!
Everything’s coming up Mayfield! Right?
There was one problem. As nice of a gesture as the statue is — well, I don’t know how to put this. OK. I’ll just say it.
It bears no resemblance to Mayfield. Like, none whatsoever.

Yeah, I don’t know who that’s supposed to be, and I’m sure they’re a nice person, but it’s definitely not Mayfield. Don’t get me wrong; it’s still a tremendous honor to have a statue of yourself, which will have a place at the famous Heisman Park. No one’s saying that part isn’t cool.
But the statue itself? We’ve got questions for that sculptor.
