We are a week away from the 2022 NFL draft and the Pittsburgh Steelers are still working hard to get their plan in place. On Wednesday, the Steelers hosted Liberty quarterback Malik Willis for a Top 30 visit.
Willis is the consensus top quarterback in this draft. His combination of athleticism and arm strength is elite and reminds of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Willis is raw and lacks some polish in the passing game but if you view him as pure upside, he’s the Steelers best option.
If the Steelers are as interested in Willis, they are going to have to trade up to get him. There’s no getting around that. The only question would be how far up would they have to go? Pittsburgh currently holds the No. 20 overall pick and at minimum would need to go up 10 spots to have a shot at Willis.
