Notre Dame quarterback out for spring game

Not the news you wanted to wake up to today.

Notre Dame quarterback [autotag]Tyler Buchner[/autotag] will not play in this Saturday’s Blue-Gold Game as he’ll be sidelined with an ankle injury.  That announcement was made Wednesday morning before the draft for the annual spring game took place.

According to [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag], the sophomore quarterback twisted his ankle on Tuesday while walking down a flight of stairs.

Junior quarterback [autotag]Drew Pyne[/autotag], who is the other horse in the race to be Notre Dame’s starting quarterback this fall, will spend time playing for both squads in Saturday’s game.

Buchner was seen in a walking boot on Wednesday ahead of the Blue-Gold Game draft.
