It’s becoming more and more certain that Nets guard Ben Simmons will finally make his debut for the team in Brooklyn’s first-round series against the Boston Celtics.
Simmons has been limited to individual workouts, but after progressing without any pain in his back, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Simmons will soon begin practicing against his teammates – the final step before returning to game action.
Via ESPN:
“After running and shooting without back pain for over a week, Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons is expected to take the next step on the floor in the coming week and begin practicing against teammates on the court, sources told ESPN on Saturday.”
A report from Brian Windhorst earlier this week claimed that Simmons was targeting a Game 4 return against Boston, but Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reported on Saturday that Simmons’ timeline could be moving up to Game 3, scheduled for next Saturday, April 23.
Sources: There’s growing optimism that Ben Simmons could make his Nets and season debut as early as Game 3 against Boston, at Barclays Center next Saturday.
