Leaky Black returning to UNC for final season

UNC basketball forward Leaky Black is returning for a final season in Chapel Hill, he announced on Friday.

Things are starting to come together in terms of the UNC basketball program “running it back” for another year fresh off a national championship game appearance. Earlier this week forward Armando Bacot announced he was returning for his senior season.

And now, another key starter has announced his return.

Forward [autotag]Leaky Black[/autotag] is returning for his fifth and final season in Chapel Hill, taking advantage of the Covid year back in 2020-21. The forward made a video to announce his return, similar to what Bacot did earlier in the week.

The 6-foot-8 forward started and played in 38 of UNC’s 39 games this past season, averaging 4.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.9 steals per game. Over his four years at North Carolina, Black has developed into an elite defender and has improved his shooting as well.

His return gives UNC a lock-down defender at the wing position.
