The Aggies offense lost wide receiver Demond Demas to the transfer portal earlier in the spring when the former 5-star recruit announced his decision to leave College Station, and as it turns out, Demas was not the last Aggies pass catcher to decide to look elsewhere for opportunity in 2022 and beyond.
Senior deep threat Caleb Chapman reportedly submitted his name for the transfer portal this week following the Maroon and White game over the weekend.
Chapman’s time in Aggieland was full of promise robbed by injury. Chapman played in only 22 games in his 4 years in Maroon, and caught 28 passes, averaging almost 15 yards per reception and two career games with over 100 yards. However, he suffered season ending injuries in 2018 and 2020, the latter of which came on a 51-yard touchdown in his 9 catch 151 yard and 2 touchdown breakout game against the Florida Gators, and missed 6 games due to injury in 2021.
Wherever Caleb lands, if he can stay healthy, he will be a big portal addition for a program.
