Auburn forward has procedure to repair stress fracture

Forward Chris Moore’s recovery time is expected to be 10 to 12 weeks.

Auburn forward [autotag]Chris Moore[/autotag] will be taking some time to recover this offseason.

The upcoming junior had to undergo a procedure in Birmingham, Alabama, to fix “a stress reaction in his shin,” according to a tweet from Auburn’s official basketball account. The Tigers stated that his recovery is estimated to take 10 to 12 weeks.

It is unknown when Moore sustained the injury. Moore played 25 games last season, where he averaged 7.4 minutes and 2.8 points per game. Moore struggled to find frequent playing time during the 2021-22 season, and he’ll hope to make more of an impact next season after the departures of Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler to the NBA draft. His best game came against Louisiana Monroe on November 12 of last year, where he played 21 minutes and netted 16 points in a dominant 93-65 Tigers victory.

It is currently unknown what Moore’s exact injury, such as a shin splint or a stress fracture, is. A 10 to 12 week recovery time would put Moore’s recovery at around late June to early July, which would be more than enough time for him to get prepared for the NCAA basketball season that typically begins in early November.

The schedule for 2022-23 isn’t confirmed, but Auburn is currently slated to take place in the Cancun Challenge next season.
