Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons hasn’t played all season for various reasons, but an issue with a herniated disc in his back has delayed his eventual debut for the Nets following his midseason trade from the 76ers.
Now, with the Nets on the verge of the play-in tournament, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that there is hope Simmons could play a limited role should the team advance to the first round. According to ESPN, Simmons has made “pain-free progress.”
“Simmons had an epidural shot in mid-March to subdue pain and irritation with a herniated disc in his lower back. He has found more traction in the past week, and, barring setbacks, there’s an increasing confidence that he could become available to the Nets sometime in a first-round series.”
