Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Utah Jazz (48-33) close out the regular season on the road Sunday against the struggling Portland Trail Blazers (27-54). Tip-off is 9:30 p.m. ET at Moda Center. Below, we look at the Jazz vs. Trail Blazers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Jazz will be moving on to the postseason. They lost Friday to the Phoenix Suns 111-105, but had won three of their previous four games.

They are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference, but tied record-wise with the Denver Nuggets. If they beat the Blazers, they clinch the No. 5 seed and will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the first round. If they lose, they could end up in sixth place and have to face the Golden State Warriors.

Jazz at Trail Blazers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 119, Trail Blazers 95

Money line

PASS on the money line. The Blazers have been atrocious. They have lost 10 games in a row and only have 2 wins in their last 22 games. Betting them on the money line has been wasted money for a while now. As for the Jazz, the price makes it not worth your while. The only way a money line bet on the Jazz makes sense is if it is a part of parlay bet.

Against the spread

This spread is huge, and yet it seems appropriate. In the Trail Blazers’ last 20 losses, 13 have been by 19 points or more. They have covered the spread once in their last 10 games and are 17-22-1 ATS at home this season.

The Jazz have beaten the Blazers by 22, 15 and 38 points this season. However, they are only 15-24-1 ATS on the road this season. But if their 36-point win Tuesday over the Oklahoma City Thunder is any indication of how things will go against a bad team, take the JAZZ -18.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Portland has scored less than 100 points four games in a row (89.0 average) and 13 times since the All-Star break. The Over has hit in only two of their last 10 games.

The Jazz have scored 120 or more in three of their last 11 games.

With the Blazers’ lack of offense, it is going to be hard to get to the projected total. Take UNDER 221.5 (-110).
