Against the spread
LEAN PISTONS +12.5 (-110) because Detroit is 11-0 ATS in the last 11 road games and 11-8 ATS on the road versus teams with a winning record.
On the other hand, the 76ers -12.5 (-110) are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games, 4-10 ATS as double-digit favorites and 6-10 ATS at home versus teams with a losing record.
The reasons for the LEAN to the PISTONS +12.5 (-110) instead of a like are Detroit’s 1-6 ATS record in the last 7 visits to Philly and Cunningham’s questionable game status.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 226.5 (+100) because the total is 7-1-1 O/U in the last 8 Pistons-76ers meetings and their last meeting went Under by 29 points so my hunch is this game ping pongs back Over the total.
Furthermore, oddsmakers set Sunday’s Pistons-76ers total 4.5 points higher than the previous meeting despite it going way Under the total, which gives me more confidence in the Over.
Lastly, Philly’s defense is suspect and Detroit has played hard down the stretch even though the Pistons have been out of the postseason race since before the All-Star break. I could see Detroit doing its part to help cash an OVER 226.5 (+100) wager.
