Tennessee offered 2026 prospect Tyler Atkinson on March 26.
“Honored to recieve a full offer from my hometown school Vol football, the University of Tennessee,” Atkinson announced. “Thank you for believing in me.”
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound edge rusher and outside linebacker is from Lawrenceville, Georgia. Atkinson is slated to play for Grayson High School this spring and during the fall season as a freshman.
“Tennessee stands out because it is where I was born,” Atkinson told Vols Wire. “I really liked the energy I experienced on each visit. All the coaches are awesome. Coach (Mike) Ekeler has contagious good vibes. Coach (Chad) Creamer is the man! UT is just a whole vibe.
“Whenever I workout with some of the players, they love coach (Josh) Heupel. They are ready to go crazy for him and the Vols.”
Another selling point for Tennessee and Heupel’s program is alternate uniforms. The Vols debuted its dark mode uniforms last season.
“Big vibe, I love that,” Atkinson said of Heupel implementing alternate uniforms into his program at Tennessee. “You look good, you play good. I think everybody wants to have the best drip.”
Below are alternate uniforms Tennessee has worn throughout the years.
