Tigers snag close win against No. 10 Georgia

Clemson baseball secures a big win in a close battle against No.10 Georgia.

It’s been an up and down season for the Clemson baseball team as they secured a big 4-3 win over No. 10 Georgia Tuesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson.

Clemson pitcher Billy Barlow (1-2) earned his first career win, striking out five batters while only allowing one run on three hits in 5.0 innings pitched. Ryan Ammons closed out the game for the Tigers, recording his fifth save of the season taking over in the 9th.

The Tigers’ bats did enough to give the team the win, hitting three home runs, two of which came back-to-back in the first inning. The victory pushed Clemson to 19-9 on the season.

We will next see the Tigers on Friday, as they open up a series at Notre Dame at 5 p.m. ET. The Fighting Irish are 17-5 (5-4) this year and are coming off a 5-2 win over Butler in South Bend. Clemson hasn’t played a series at Frank Eck Stadium since 2018.
