Will LeBron James play on Tuesday versus the Phoenix Suns?

A source close to the Lakers has some info on whether LeBron James will be able to play on Tuesday when the Lakers face the Phoenix Suns.

After making a return from an ankle injury on Friday versus the New Orleans Pelicans, LeBron James was out again on Sunday when his Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets.

The ankle has been a problem ever since he first sprained it just over a week ago in another contest against New Orleans.

It begs the question of whether he’ll be able to suit up when the Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns in Arizona on Tuesday.

Via ESPN:

“A source familiar with James’ status told ESPN it is “unlikely” James’ ankle will improve enough for him to play against the Suns, but cautioned that things could unexpectedly improve in the next 48 hours and allow him to give it a go,” wrote Dave McMenamin on Sunday after the Lakers-Nuggets contest.

L.A. is now in a desperate situation after losing six games in a row. It trails the San Antonio Spurs by two full games for the final spot in the play-in tournament.

With four games remaining, the Lakers will likely have to win out in order to have a real shot at making the tournament.

If James is unable to suit up for any of their remaining games, it may be a forgone conclusion that this disastrous campaign will end with their final regular season game on Sunday.
