Report: N’Keal Harry ‘likely at end of road’ with Patriots after DeVante Parker trade

It’s just about the end of N’Keal Harry’s tenure with the Patriots.

New England Patriots receiver N’Keal Harry may finally get that trade that he demanded last offseason, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. One of the many obvious takeaways from the Patriots’ decision to trade for receiver DeVante Parker was that he was likely to render Harry obsolete.

Harry, a former first-round pick, was supposed to develop into a player like Parker, a big, contested-catch receiver. Parker is sure to help quarterback Mac Jones expand his range when passing downfield. Harry did not. So the Patriots will explore the trade market — and potentially elect to release Harry — depending upon what happens in the NFL draft, per Fowler.

Because the NFL draft boasts a deep class of receivers, the Patriots may see a number of options they’d like to select. If they take even one receiver, it may push Harry off the roster. That would mean they’d look to part ways with him, likely resorting to a release.
