Soon-to-be NFL draft pick K[autotag]yle Hamilton[/autotag] left quite the legacy in his three years at Notre Dame. Hamilton showed superb skills in his time and entered the NFL draft after his junior year as he’s got a high probability of having his name called in the first 10 picks in April.
[autotag]Jerome Bettis[/autotag] also turned heads at Notre Dame, enough in fact that he became a top 10 draft picks after leaving the university for the NFL following his junior season. A stop with the Los Angeles Rams and a Hall of Fame stay in Pittsburgh later, and Bettis is back on campus now finishing his degree at 50 years old.
Who would win one round in an Oklahoma drill today?
I ask because Hamilton put the thought in my head and now I can’t stop debating it with myself.
Hamilton began hosting the “Inside the Garage” podcast with a few teammates this past season, recently had Bettis on as a show guest. In a tweet promoting the episode, Hamilton declared he’d take The Bus on in an Oklahoma drill if he received 500 retweets.
Well, anyone would want to see that (besides Hamilton’s agent) so it soared past 500 rather quickly. Hamilton used his brains to put an end before he made a poor business decision.

But now I’m left wondering if they were to do the Oklahoma drill just one time against each other, how would it end?
It’s easy to say that Bettis is 50 now and obviously doesn’t move like he used to, but he doesn’t have to carry the ball 20 times in this situation. Instead, if he’s given whatever time to warmup that he requires, could The Bus run over Hamilton just once?
Logic says he’s too old but for one carry I say The Bus has just enough tread left on the tires to take care of business one more time*.
*-This opinion comes from someone who had an entire wall dedicated to Jerome Bettis during their teenage years so there is clearly no bias in it.
