Jameson Williams lands with WR-needy team in latest 2022 mock draft

Jameson Williams would be a huge boost for this WR unit!

Jameson Williams only spent one season with the Crimson Tide after spending his freshman and sophomore season at Ohio State. The one year at Alabama was enough to take him from undrafted all the way to first round.

Not only was Williams projected to be selected in the first round, he was expected to be the first receiver taken off the board. A torn ACL in the national championship game changed that.

Williams, though still recovering from his knee injury, is still landing in the first round in recent mock drafts, which is a true testament to his playing abilities.

The latest 2022 NFL mock draft done by Luke Easterling of the Draft Wire has Williams landing with the New York Jets at No. 28 overall following a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets recently missed out on the blockbuster Tyreek Hill trade and now have three capable receivers in Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios and Corey Davis. However, Williams size is what would make him stand out in this unit.

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has not proven to be the franchise guy the front office was hoping for when they drafted him, but one thing is certain: he’s got a canon of an arm.

Williams as a deep threat paired with Wilson’s arm strength may be a perfect match.

In 2021, Williams recorded 79 catches for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns.
