PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers came away with an improbable win on Monday, knocking off the first-place Miami Heat despite not having either of their superstar duo. With Joel Embiid and James Harden out, the Sixers turned to a 21 year old.
Tyrese Maxey stepped up in a big way. He had 28 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, and he knocked down three 3s to lift the Sixers to a 113-106 win over the Heat. Maxey was incredible in the fourth with the game on the line. He also had a huge block on Heat guard Caleb Martin to put an exclamation point on it for Philadelphia.
After a big performance, Heat stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo as well as coach Erik Spoelstra gave their respects to Maxey.
