You’ve ridden the payload ferry into the Pyramid Ship, wrestled with obelisks, dispatched the Caretaker and juggled relics through Exhibition in Destiny 2. You’ve also had to beat the traditional bane of every Raid, excessive jumping puzzles in between encounters. Now it’s time for the ultimate challenge in the Vow of the Disciple Raid: Rhulk, the Disciple of the Witness himself, the final boss.
Rhulk is a really interesting and well-designed encounter that combines many of the elements of the Raid so far in new ways, and features a classic and very satisfying final DPS (damage per second) takedown.

The bejeweled arena is bright and captivating after so much darkness elsewhere in the Pyramid Ship, the booming drums and choral accompaniment contribute to an epic atmosphere, and Rhulk himself is a new kind of boss: aloof and unthreatened, he towers above you, levitating with arms behind his back, and taunts you as you try to unpick his various locks and find ways to damage him. It is only at the very end that his demeanor changes as he realizes he might lose.
And lose he will. Here is our guide to defeating Rhulk, the final boss in Vow of the Disciple.
