After Davante Adams and Chris Godwin both received the franchise tag, Allen Robinson was viewed as the top wide receiver on the free-agent market. He surely had his share of suitors in free agency, but it was the Rams who swooped in to sign the talented receiver to a three-year deal.
Robinson now joins Cooper Kupp as the Rams’ No. 2 receiver after Los Angeles traded Robert Woods to the Titans, clearing a spot for Robinson on offense. The Rams weren’t an obvious fit for Robinson, but he saw the defending Super Bowl champs as a team that will make him better.
Here’s what he said about joining the Rams while meeting with the media on Monday.
WR Allen Robinson on choosing the Rams: "I wanted to step into an environment where I can be the best I can be. They're coming off a Super Bowl, and I haven't yet won a Super Bowl. To be around a group of guys who have done that is only going to make me better and push me."

One player who has a real chance to help Robinson improve is Jalen Ramsey. He and Robinson were on the Jaguars together in 2016 and 2017, practicing against each other every week. With Ramsey being the best defensive back in football, facing a player of that caliber consistently will only help a receiver.
Robinson is excited about reuniting with Ramsey in Los Angeles, calling him a player who’s going to make him better on a daily basis.
Allen Robinson on reuniting with Jalen Ramsey "Jalen is a person who pushes you to be the best that you can be each and every day. To have that on a daily basis is only going to make me better"
Robinson also talked to ex-teammates Leonard Floyd, Dante Fowler & Jacques McClendon.

Van Jefferson will also be on the roster as the presumed No. 3 receiver, and he’s someone Robinson has already talked to. They both went to the same high school, so they’ve kept in touch over the years.

After catching passes from an underwhelming group of quarterbacks throughout his career, Robinson will now get the chance to play with Matthew Stafford, who’s undoubtedly the best quarterback Robinson has had to date.
That should lead to a productive season for the receiver, and also an uptick in downfield plays by the Rams, given Robinson’s ability to threaten a defense vertically with his size and catch radius.
