Coastal Carolina doesn’t normally stand out as a must-visit pro day workout, but the Chanticleers have a few 2022 NFL draft prospects that merit attention. When Coastal Carolina held its pro day on Friday, the Detroit Lions were among the NFL teams making the trip to Conway, South Carolina to check out 14 Chanticleers hoping to make an impression for the draft.
The headliner, and a good potential fit for Detroit, is tight end Isaiah Likely. The Lions know Likely well after coaching him in the Senior Bowl week, where he stood out for his open-field athleticism and strong hands. His athletic measurements at the pro day weren’t great, clocking an underwhelming 7.33 seconds in the 3-cone drill and an unofficial 4.80 40-yard dash time at 238 pounds. Likely, who led all college TEs in touchdowns last fall with 12, is generally projected in the 4th-5th rounds.
Other Chanticleer prospects of note:
- WR Jaivon Heiligh
- RB Shermari Jones
- LB Silas Kelly
- LB/S Myles Olufemi
