Mack Brown and the UNC football program will soon learn their fate for a big four-star recruit in the 2023 class.
Georgia native Michael Daugherty officially cut his list of 43 offers down to seven schools on Friday, naming North Carolina, Texas, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Miami, and Louisville as his finalists. He also announced that he will be making his college decision on April 13th, ending his recruitment and committing to a program.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety out of Logansville is a big target for the Tar Heels in the 2023 class. He visited last Fall for a game and was then back on campus in January to see the program, just a few months after including them in his top 8. He did have plans to commit to a school in the Summer but has now pushed that up.

Daugherty is on a visit to Auburn this weekend as the Tigers are another big school in the running to land him.
He is ranked No. 166 nationally, the No. 15 safety and No. 17 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.Â
