Contract details on Panthers WR DJ Moore’s 3-year extension

On an annual basis, Panthers WR DJ Moore is now the third-highest paid player at his position.

It was only a matter of when, not if, the Carolina Panthers were going to pay DJ Moore. And, boy, did they ever.

On Friday afternoon, the team announced a three-year extension for their top wideout. According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Moore will earn $61.884 million over those three seasons with a full guarantee of $41.61 million.

The deal will add on to the receiver’s fifth-year option, bringing his contract through the 2025 season. In total, the pact will pay Moore $73 million over four years.

On an annual basis, the deal will average out to $20.628 million. That salary, remarkably enough, lowers his cap number down for the team as they continue to fill out their roster.

Additionally, his $20.6-million yearly average makes him the third-highest paid player at the position, according to Over The Cap. Moore is topped only by new Las Vegas Raider Davante Adams ($28.2 million per year) and Arizona’s DeAndre Hopkins ($27.2 million).
