The Russell Wilson trade will become official Wednesday

The Russell Wilson trade becomes official tomorrow.

Russell Wilson isn’t an official member of the Denver Broncos just yet, but he will be soon.

Last week, Broncos general manager George Paton agreed to trade quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Wilson and a fourth-round pick.

Both teams have agreed to the trade and Wilson also approved on the move — he arrived in Denver last week and passed his physical. The trade will not become official, though, until the NFL’s new league year begins at 2 p.m. MT on Wednesday.

It’s not quite NFL official, but Wilson has made it social media official.

The Broncos will inherit Wilson’s contract, which has two years remaining. Denver will undoubtedly give Wilson a big extension at some point but, for now, he has a very-team friendly contract through the 2023 season.
