Don’t call it a comeback — actually, no, call it exactly that.
Former Michigan football quarterback, NFL GOAT, and perennial Super Bowl-winner Tom Brady had announced in January that he was hanging up his cleats, not quite going out on top after a playoff loss, but still playing at just about the highest level possible.
It turns out, with a little reflection, Brady isn’t exactly ready for his next era to begin. So, he’s going to stick with what he knows: playing football.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday evening, Brady announced that he’s decided not to retire, and that he will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this upcoming season. It’s a stunning course reversal if there ever was one.
These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. With Brady returning, that should propel the Bucs back to the playoff, and certainly change their plans in the upcoming NFL draft — even if it is only for one year.
