Michelle Beisner-Buck took to social media Friday to confirm the big news that her husband, Joe Buck, will be exiting FOX Sports’ broadcasts and heading to ESPN as the play-by-play voice of “Monday Night Football.”
After decades of providing thrilling calls for FOX Sports, Joe Buck heads to the Worldwide Leader, where he will rejoin NFL partner Troy Aikman on MNF.
The combo came up with a huge haul as their deals together should go for more than $30 million annually.
Ohhhhhh Emmmmmm Geeeeee!!!! Welcome to the @espnnfl Fam, FAM!!!!!!! I love you so much @boejuck Insanely proud and excited that you and @troyaikman are going to be the new voices of Monday Night Football!!!! Holy S%#T – cannot believe that Joe and I get to share the same night of work together. “Take your spouse to work” kinda magical Monday Nights!!!!! A new chapter for all of us. This is going to be life changing for our family. Forever grateful to @foxsports and the almost 30 years Joe spent there. Change is hard, but change is good. This change is also historic. There is no one better than Joe and Troy calling @nfl games, and I am so thrilled that they get to continue doing what they do best, TOGETHER. Joe Buck had a year left on his contract. The New York Post reported FOX will get the choice of a Big Ten game in 2022 for letting him out of it.
FOX will receive the ability to choose one Big Ten football game earlier next season, according to a source. The two networks share the rights to the Big Ten and there is a drafting system that is utilized to pick games. The two sides began talks late Thursday night.
That could turn into Notre Dame-Ohio State on Sept. 3.
One interesting note on the decision. FOX has two of the next three Super Bowls so Buck and Aikman each chose ESPN and MNF over calling the NFL’s championship games in 2023 and ’25.
